| South of Tryfan
Junction the railway winds its way through firstly open pasture fields
and then into the woods that it won't leave until it reaches Waunfawr.
The railway passes under the ugly bridge (it's not symmetrical) through
badger and then round Aspinall's curves before passing over the
landslip.
Badger? When the line was being rebuilt progress in this area
was slowed as it was thought that badgers had a set in the cutting side
at this location. It was eventually shown that the badgers had
departed sometime before but the name has stuck.
The maintenance shots show work in progress re-aligning the track to
a new alignment that will enable the lifting of speed restrictions. |
